I started this book last night and I‘m breezing through it. I loved Harding‘s â€˜Florence & Giles‘ and this one here seems to be just as great.

Challenge | Day 05

I tried not to choose an obvious book or a very common character for this challenge.
Young Florence is very resilient in her struggle to learn how to read and her love of books (as we are). And I confess I was surprised at the end of this story!

This is the stand-alone sequel of Florence & Giles. I thought the story was great, with a nice twist in the end. I liked the characters and was glad to see a bit more of Florence and her life after the events of the first book. Although I have to say I hate this cover because it's extremely misleading and ugly. Both Florence & Giles and The Girl Who Couldn't Read fit the mystery, horror, psychological horror genres.

pilardib and I forgot to say the writing is a bit different in this one. The chapters are really short, but it works well with the pace of the story. 7y
