pickI wanted more Joan of Arc -- there can never be enough Joan of Arc -- and I do get tired of reading about how awful Henry VI was at kinging (although there doesn't seem to be much more to say about him), but Barker nicely lays out her thesis that “For Henry VI the greatest tragedy was that his desire for peace in France fuelled violent conflict and civil war in England and ultimately led to his losing the crowns of both kingdoms.“
