Donkey Dreaming
Donkey Dreaming: A Year on the Bicententennial National Trail | Eliza Rachel Allan
1 post | 1 read
With a horse and two donkeys for company, a mother and daughter duo set off on the adventure of a lifetime- trekking Australia's Bicentennial National Trail. The duo travel 5330 kilometres along old droving routes, rugged fire trails and forgotten country by-lanes. Donkey Dreaming is a tale of endurance, compromise, and of facing one's fears.

While I will never understand anyone's need to do things like this, I say "you do you" and I'll read about it from my comfy chair! This felt like Australian Eat, Pray, Love with equines and I devoured it in less than 24 hours. A woman, her 10-year old daughter, a horse and two donkeys spend a year hiking a trail in Eastern AU. If you like books about searching for meaning or getting back to nature, or roughing it in the AU Bush, check it out.
