This was today‘s outing in a town called Utne, on what was probably the scariest road I‘ve been on in Norway. So many blind turns on the edges of mountains with one-lane roads. Fortunately there weren‘t that many cars on the road with us. This museum had the history of Hardanger embroidery (cutwork Norwegian embroidery my husband‘s grandmother taught me about 25 years ago) and Hardanger fiddles from the 1600s.

julesG I'd brave this road just to go to the museum. But, what's the rule for those one lane roads with u-bends? Honking before you enter the bend? 5y
Texreader @julesG No idea until the cars are facing one another that the other one is there; it‘s quite scary. One car has to back up till there is room to pass. Which is scary. It‘s a delicate drive. A 22km drive took an hour. 5y
julesG Oh just like some roads in the UK or Ireland. In some countries you have to slow down and honk, if there's no answering honk, you can pass. If there is an answering honk, I have no idea how to proceed. 😁😁 5y
Texreader @julesG Apparently not so civilized here. 🤣 5y

This is what 3:45 am (I have insomnia here too) in the morning looks like on the Hardanger Fjord in Norway. It looks about the same as photos I took at 11 am yesterday.

8little_paws So cool!! 5y
wanderinglynn Wow! 😲 It‘s so light! It stays light here until 10ish, but that‘s a whole ‘nother level. 5y
RealLifeReading Ooh Norway! That's on my bucket list 5y
Susannah It‘s beautiful, but I would struggle with all the light in the summer—and the lack of light in the winter. 5y
Crazeedi Beautiful! What a delightful visit it looks like you are having❤️ 5y
