It has been hectic the past 3 days, having taught the SAF (Singapore Armed Forces) critical & creative thinking skills. This group was engaged, asked good qs, & showed commendable efforts in their final presentations today. They are trainers, training diff groups from national service men to conducting armored vehicle training. This is bittersweet as this will be the last time I will be teaching them. Very grateful for their words of affirmation.

rretzler Everyone needs critical and creative thinking skills! IMO they are more important than many things we learn in school, but very difficult to teach. I‘d be interested to learn more about the methods and materials that you use to teach them. 5y

GatheringBooks @ElishaLovesBooks thank you! this is part of a teaching consultancy. my actual “day job” is a teacher educator. :) 5y
GatheringBooks @rretzler totally agree! while i use generic texts on critical and creative thinking skills, i try to find as many relevant activities from within military context that allow them to practice conceptual theories that i share with them, so it is more experiential, immersive, relevant, and meaningful. most are journal articles i find in our library databases written by military officers doing graduate studies as well.
