Otherworldly Izakaya Nobu Volume 4
Otherworldly Izakaya Nobu Volume 4 | Natsuya Semikawa
1 post | 1 read | 4 to read
Business is booming for Izakaya Nobu, with more regular customers than ever. A number of women are dropping by for relaxing meals, including the capable waterworks guildmaster, a storied mercenary, and the witch of the woods. The menu showcases the ever-popular "Pot of Odin", sanma shioyaki, tako kara-age, ushiojiru, purin... but you'll be having "the usual", right? The otherworldly gourmet fantasy continues to bring a huge variety of dishes and diners together!

Got this from #netgalley without having read the first 3 volumes & now I can't wait to read them! This is described as an "otherworldly gourmet fantasy": a Japanese bar that pops up in a medieval German city & transports its customers with delicious food. The stories are episodic; perhaps the characters are recurring, but reading it out of sequence is no issue. These are love stories about food & its transformative powers. Fun & enchanting ???

batsy The anime series is available on YouTube with English subtitles and the first episode has already cheered me up immensely 🙂 5y

batsy @Tanisha_A My pleasure, I hope you enjoy it! I'm hoping to watch an episode a day, sort of like comfort food 😆 5y
batsy @Lindy It was a fun read and I think you'll enjoy the detailed descriptions of the dishes 🙂 5y
Bookwomble If you have Netflix, you might enjoy "Samurai Gourmet" and "Midnight Diner". Both Japanese dramas using restaurants and food as a way of telling stories about people. 5y
Sunraven Have you read Delicious in Dungeon? Your description of this makes me think of that!

@Bookwomble: Those were both super cute! Also Kantaro: The Sweet Tooth Salaryman is ridiculous in a good way.
