Il rinomato catalogo Walker & Dawn
Il rinomato catalogo Walker & Dawn | Davide Morosinotto
7 posts | 1 read

Mehso-so

This one was a “Pick” for me until approximately one and a half hours before it ended. From there on the plot flattened more and more. As if Davide Morosinotto had decided to come up with all the genre-typical features. Which is a pity in my eyes.

It‘s enjoyable – and the first two and a half parts really captured my attention.

I‘m the hero of the hour.

Didn‘t come far in my new book and meanwhile it‘s better to keep the lights out. Otherwise there‘s a high probability that I end up as mosquito 🦟 breakfast. 🙄

So I stick to my audiobook again.
(Why didn‘t I have the idea to mainly listen to audiobooks during the last couple of summers❓🤔)

I like the story. It‘s charming. Here and there it‘s naive because of its characters but it‘s not too childish.

I am _so_clever_‼️😂
I just put the tagged audiobook on hold because I won‘t finish it before it‘s due in a few hours. 😃 Lucky me. 🍀

And before I start my new book it‘s time for #BalconyReading my newspaper‘s 📰 ☕️weekend edition. ☀️😍⛱ #SundayReads

Additionally it‘s funny too. For example the way Te Trois explains that his name is French (short for „Tu es trois“) and means „You‘re no. 3“ and that his other siblings are named „Chuck“ – and then his mother ran out of names and continued with „You‘re no. 2“, „You‘re no. 4“ (who passed away after a year) and „You‘re no. 5“.

It‘s so weird that it‘s lovable all at the same time. 😂

I like it although I think I wouldn‘t have read it as a book. It‘s divided into several parts – seemingly each told by a different character. A trick I like.

Some of the events that happened lately in the story where a bit foreseeable but it‘s interestingly told – and I really like the four friends. ❤️

The marketing blurb:

“Louisiana, USA, at the beginning of 20th century: Peter, Eddie, Julie and her small brother Tit live in big poverty. One day they by luck find threes dollars. At that time an enormously high sum. They decide to order a pistol from the catalogue “Walker & Dawn”, but, however, receive an old watch instead.

It turns out that the watch is of high value. As they then search for its owner a murderous adventure begins.”

Funny to recognise one‘s next audiobook in the catalogue by cover.

It took my Internet connection 15 minutes to download it but now I got new ear chow for my commutes.

The past 2,5 weeks in the office have been so stressful that I am really thankful for this bank holiday. Hugs 🤗 to all the other (German) Littens feeling so. Relax, refuel and give yourself a treat‼️🤗

Sarah83 Haven't you read my email? 🤔 Or did I say anything that bothers you? 5y
Buechersuechtling @Sarah83 No, by no means. Everything‘s okay. I just didn‘t have the time to answer. I‘m so sorry. If that might count as attenuating circumstances … These past days I every day dropped dead and exhausted into my bed when I came home. I didn‘t even eat properly. I will try to explain further when I today managed to finally answer you – which, I swear, already has been on my “Do-by-all-means-today”-list before you asked … *exists ashamed* 5y
Sarah83 Alles gut. Hatte mir nur Sorgen gemacht. 🙃 5y
