The Name Book
The Name Book: Over 10,000 Names--Their Meanings, Origins, and Spiritual Significance | Dorothy Astoria
2 posts | 1 read
Baby-naming has become an art form with parents today, but where do parents go to find names and their meanings? The Name Book offers particular inspiration to those who want more than just a list of popular names. From Aaron to Zoe, this useful book includes the cultural origin, the literal meaning, and the spiritual significance of more than 10,000 names. An appropriate verse of Scripture accompanies each name, offering parents a special way to bless their children.

JazzFeathers One of the most beautiful, deep, thought-provoking books ever written 5y
rretzler Hmmm. That‘s a tough one. I know that not everyone will agree with me because this book has a lot of haters but 5y
TK421 I completely agree with @JazzFeathers 5y
Ruthiella Green Eggs and Ham! 5y
Jolynne Indian Horse 5y
Talewaggingreads Not for everyone, but worth considering as Toole was a brilliant writer who killed himself leaving behind only this one gem. 😢💗. The setting, 60's New Orleans, my era and hometown, do make me a bit biased. 5y

My Litsy handle comes directly from my blog, BookNAround (http://BookNAround.blogspot.com) which I started a decade ago when my kids were little and I was still running. The play on words seemed to capture my life pretty perfectly. Now it‘s almost exclusively a book blog so it‘s less appropriate but I‘ve had the name so long I can‘t change now. #litsyhandle @Chelleo

Chelleo I love it! I think it could easily apply to a lot of Littens. 😀 6y
