Walk the ancient streets, meet the colorful characters, and uncover the secret history of Star Wars: Galaxys Edge, the upcoming expansion to the Disney Parks experience! After devastating losses at the hands of the First Order, General Leia Organa has dispatched her agents across the galaxy in search of allies, sanctuary, and firepowerand her top spy, Vi Moradi, may have just found all three, on a secluded world at the galaxys edge. A planet of lush forests, precarious mountains, and towering, petrified trees, Batuu is on the furthest possible frontier of the galactic map, the last settled world before the mysterious expanse of Wild Space. The rogues, smugglers, and adventurers who eke out a living on the largest settlement on the planet, Black Spire Outpost, are here to avoid prying eyes and unnecessary complications. Vi, a Resistance spy on the run from the First Order, is hardly a welcome guest. And when a shuttle full of stormtroopers lands in her wake, determined to root her out, she has no idea where to find help. To survive, Vi will have to seek out the good-hearted heroes hiding in a world that redefines scum and villainy. With the help of a traitorous trooper and her acerbic droid, she begins to gather a colorful band of outcasts and misfits, and embarks on a mission to spark the fire of resistance on Batuubefore the First Order snuffs it out entirely.

I‘m about a week behind here #StarWarsBuddyRead sorry about that.

I just got my copy of Black Spire from the library today, after Queen‘s Peril arrived, so I‘ll probably read that one first, then backtrack to Spire.

How‘d you all make out with Black Spire? Good, so-so, eh…I‘ve heard mixed reviews. It‘s tough for one tied into the theme park opening, but I liked the first one in this set (Crash of Fate).

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ⤵️Then again, I also liked the first of the Amidala series too. 3y
BookwormAHN I just finished Queen's Peril, it's really the prequel for The Phantom Menace told mostly through Amidala's eyes. It was really good. Black Spire was good as well but there were some parts that seemed a little ridiculous or rather convenient. It was fun to see what happened to Vi and Cardinal from Phasma. 3y

Jari-chan I enjoyed it, even though there are stronger Star Wars titles. Review will follow. Started with the Queen and already like it a lot 😁 3y
CrowCAH I LOVE A Crash of Fate!!! Black Spire was meh for me. It was more violent than I thought it should be with the torture scene. And Vi kept going with all her injuries, a bit unrealistic. Though, I did like the message of the book about banding together to take action against the New Order. It finally got good at the end when Kylo‘s starship was overhead! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BookwormAHN I really liked Vi, was kind of iffy on Cardinal, so we‘ll see… 3y

📚📚📚 Without spoiling it - set after the First Order obliterates the Hosnian System. Follows characters from Phasma. Felt like I was reading a CW Network script at points 😒 Gives some set up for other books. Okay but not my favorite.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Bummer, I hate that… I‘m still waiting on it from the library. I wonder if it started out as some backstory/plot for the theme park Galaxy‘s Edge at Disney tie in? 3y
The_Literary_Jedi I was wondering the same thing since it is set on Batuu. 3y

This one was alright. Nothing special. I had some major problems with the setup of the two main characters (“Hey I know this guy TORTURED YOU but he‘s good now, so we‘re gonna send him on a mission with you!”) and it wasn‘t the most compelling narrative. The last third really picked up and was interesting. I liked learning the background of Galaxy‘s Edge, so I don‘t regret reading it. I think it‘ll enhance my trip when I visit later this year.

Sitting outside and reading!

#MittenLitten fall day 67 degrees!!! 🍁

RamsFan1963 @CrowCAH I'm thinking about buying this. Is it any good? Some Star Wars books have been hit or miss lately. 5y
CrowCAH @RamsFan1963 this is more of a miss. Everything is working out to well, even though, there‘s conflict. It‘s not holding my attention to keep reading. I do highly recommend this book ➡️ 5y
RamsFan1963 @CrowCAH Thanks for the heads-up, I'll check it out 5y
