The Mandalorian Armor: Star Wars Legends (The Bounty Hunter Wars)
The Mandalorian Armor: Star Wars Legends (The Bounty Hunter Wars) | K.W. Jeter
18 posts | 10 read | 5 to read
He's the most feared and successful bounty hunter in the galaxy. He is Boba Fett, and even the most hardened criminals tremble at his name. Now he faces the deadliest challenge of his infamous career--an all-out war against his most dangerous enemies. As the Rebellion gathers force, Prince Xizor proposes a cunning plan to the Emperor and Darth Vader: smash the power of the Bounty Hunters Guild by turning its members against each other. Only the strongest and most ruthless will survive, and they can be used against the Rebellion. It's a job for the fiercely independent Boba Fett, who jumps at the chance to destroy his rivals. But Fett soon realizes the game is rigged, as he finds himself the target of murderous factions, criminal conspiracies, and the evil at the Empire's dark heart. Boba Fett has always finished first. And in this game, anything less is death. Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

This was disappointing.

It's very dialogued, full of filler and has close to no action.

The plot is wafer thin and uninteresting.

It's a shame because it could have been excellent, you'd think a book about the most ruthless bounty hunter in the galaxy would be action-packed and full of laser battles...but no..

I've got the other two books of this trilogy but I think I'll just pass. 😏

RamsFan1963 I remember reading this trilogy years ago, thinking it would be jam packed, wall to wall action, the bored by all the talking heads. 2y

I've been binge watching clone wars, rebels & bad batch which got me in the mood for more star wars. My husband has a ton of star wars books, so I thought I would read some.

The story follows Boba Fett after he has been swallowed by the Sarlacc. It was very dry with a ton of info dumping. I was completely bored most of the time & hubby did admit this one had not impressed him either.

LazyOwl I'm thinking I may give Star Wars reads another go, but will read some of the canon content available instead. 3y

I finished this series a few days ago and WTF. The first and third books weren't bad. The second book was pretty awful. The second book mentions a sentient weapon on the back, but there is not a sentient weapon anywhere in the series. Like, not even the mention of one. It's called the bounty hunter wars, but the focus isn't on that at all. It's about an overly complicated conspiracy that doesn't really go anywhere or make any sense.👇

Patchshank It was an interesting enough story overall I guess. I wasn't super bored, except through the second book. Boba Fett has kind of a Sherlock Holmes feel (original stories), which is fun. Very poor writing though and loads of plot holes. But yeah, no actual bounty hunter wars. The bounty hunter wars was really just "Boba Fett did a thing and now they're mad, but don't worry about that. Worry about this subplot that doesn't lead anywhere interesting." 3y

My husband has been in a reading slump for the last few years - since we started having babies, pretty much. I keep buying him books in the hope that something will strike a chord. Trying not to let him see how excited I am that he grabbed one of them today 😁😁😁😁

And my husband‘s Christmas book haul... because we all know that one of the perks of marriage is that your spouse‘s books are also your books! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My mom got him the Witcher books and I got him the Star Wars

Soubhiville Wait, there are Witcher books?!? 😍 4y
Amiable Unless you and your spouse have completely different reading tastes. 🙋🏻‍♀️ 4y
Johanna414 @Soubhiville Yes, the video games and show are based on a Polish fantasy series. I'm looking forward to reading them! 4y
Johanna414 @Amiable that is a bummer! My husband strictly reads epic fantasy, which I like. My tastes are much more varied than his though 4y

I‘m not watching The Mandalorian or all that into Star Wars but I‘m enjoying the baby Yoda memes. This one seems appropriate for us here on Litsy 😂😂😂😂

I made this Baby Yoda snowflake (handmade ornament) from Anthony Herrera‘s website. He is a bonafide Kirigami genius, and has for years provided print and cut snowflake patterns of Star Wars characters and vehicles—from A New Hope to The Mandalorian. Sorry I‘m fangirling, but you should check it out! He also has Frozen and I think Guardians/Marvel.
#ornamentscavengerhunt #wintergames #elfies @Bookwormjillk @Julsmarshall do you need one Sis?

Ireadkidlit And duh, he also has amazing Harry Potter snowflake patterns (patterns are free!). And there‘s cool stuff to buy too of course—the site is www.anthonyherreradesigns.com 4y

The audio book is very well done! 👍 The story itself was interesting, especially now with Disney's Mandalorian all over the place 😉

I actually don't have monthly TBR goals. I read what sounds interesting (or has to be finished). These are a few on my radar. My current reads cycle includes books by #Littens @SiriGuruDevSingh and @JonathanDunne, and both books are off to great starts! 😄 Rereads help me out of book hangovers and if my head is too flared to follow a new story but I still want to read. ~ #Day1 #NovemberTBR #PhotoADayNov16 #bookphotochallenge ~ @RealLifeReading

Abby-J I don't really keep a TBR, either. I'm really moody about what I want to read, and I tend to rebel against things I'm "supposed" to read even if I choose them myself. 7y
bmsddk @Abby-J TBR list kindred spirits! 👍😁 7y
SiriGuruDevSingh 😍❤️❤️ Wow! I'm impressed you can read so many at once! I read one at a time (my TBR is whatever pile of books I bought before my husband started yelling like Yosemite Sam, that I now have to finish before buying any more)📚💗💕 7y
bmsddk @SiriGuruDevSingh Haha, thanks! I don't know how to be in the process of reading one book at a time -- I keep losing interest, even if I'm really getting into the book 😛 That is hilarious! At least you have your TBR list sorted out for you. What's up next on your list? 7y
SiriGuruDevSingh I'm trying to decide between Dark Matter and Cinnamon & Gunpowder 7y
