This is the latest I‘ve ever posted my #bookspin list, but I finally got it done. Been cross stitching a lot, & I didn‘t read anything on my list for January—oops! #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! I have about 3 cross stitch projects in progress that I really need to pick back up!! 2y

Both my #bookspin and #doublespin this month are categories. Yay mood reading!!!
@thearomaofbooks

TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! I like the way they ended up being kind of opposite categories, too - a book you've had a while, and one that's shiny & new!! 3y

On this snowy day I‘m thankful for warm #clothing like this snazzy sweater I saw at the sheep and wool festival several months ago. #gratitude30

DivineDiana Did you buy it? 💗 5y
Susanita @DivineDiana I wish! It was a little pricey. 5y
DivineDiana It looks it! Must be hand made! 5y

The Tea: white plus a rosebud.
The book: is sending me down the rabbit hole.

Tomigirl44 I‘m a spinner too 😊 what wheel do you have? 6y
julesG I admire anyone who has the patience for spinning their own yarn. That is one thing I'm actually not going to pick up (again). I had to learn it as a kid, out of necessity. I'm glad I can buy all sorts of yarn ready spun these days. 6y
Lauredhel @Tomigirl44 I don't, I've only used a drop spindle so far! Will probably have to wait till my teenager grows up and moves out - our living area is crammed full of guitars atm. 6y

tjwill Cute tea strainer! 6y
Tomigirl44 @julesG I find spinning relaxing 😌. @Lauredhel I started with a drop spindle and have several that I still use 😊 6y
julesG @Tomigirl44 It certainly is very relaxing, but I'm always impatient and hence I prefer ready spun yarn. 😉 6y
archaeolibrarianologist So it's...Ness Tea? 6y
Lauredhel @archaeolibrarianologist I love that little infuser :) 6y
Inspiredtoreadwrite Ah ok the cute toy things in your tea is where you put loose tea inside to infuse, correct? P.S. Am I catching up lol? 5y
Lauredhel @Inspiretoreadwrite oh, yes, this and the Manatea are just silicone tea infusers. 5y

When I caught sight of the word "spinners" on my sister's living room stack, my mind went immediately to those irritating 3-sided spinner toys that I've seen everywhere. But no. Fibre arts are my sister's passion and she has been taking a spinning course via correspondence. (Master Spinners Level 3 covers cotton, silk, and the dyeing of fibres.) #bookshelftourism

sixgun Is she taking the class through Olds college? 5y
Lindy @sixgun Yes, that was a couple of years ago. 5y
sixgun They offer pretty much the highest level you can attain in this day and age. She is certainly serious about hand spinning! Did she do year 4? 5y

Lindy @sixgun No, not yet. Are you a spinner? 5y
sixgun @lindy Yes, I spin daily as well as teach other classes and hold seminars. It's the craft / art that stopped me from wandering amongst all the others; quilting, crocheting, sewing, etc. I still love those things, but now I make all my own yarn for those things. Really changes the whole game. 5y
Lindy @sixgun Wonderful! My sister @Simone62 gifts me with homespun yarn and I love knitting with it. Glimpses of her work can be seen in a few of my posts tagged #knittersofLitsy . (edited) 5y
sixgun Yup, the homespun is such a wonderful gift. @Simone62 is a good sister! 5y
Lindy @sixgun I think it‘s possible to link to a post that shows Simone‘s gift to me of qiviut/cashmere yarn. Lindy's post on Litsy http://litsy.com/p/MWJKTllVUGRG 5y
sixgun That is beautiful! I couldn't comment there, but what a wonderful gift! I had to restart those gloves at least a dozen times. I kept counting the stitches wrong or twisting, etc. 5y
sixgun @Lindy I forgot to tag you, whoops. 5y
Lindy @sixgun The dreaded möbius loop of knitting! I‘ve done that too many times. On a separate note, you don‘t need to tag someone if you are commenting on that person‘s post, only if you want to include them in a conversation on someone else‘s. 5y
sixgun I did get much better at those garter stitches by the time I got through the wrist. I really want to do socks but I thought I'd finish this gift first. I see that it's be next Christmas now. 😂 I am learning... Slowly... I love technology, but it's making me feel older and older. I just had to get a new phone, which uses a different operating system... Ahhhh... I 5y
Lindy @sixgun Lifelong learning. It‘s the best. 😄 5y
sixgun @Lindy continuing education... I better keep my brain working. That's why I read as much as I can 5y
Lindy @sixgun 🧠💪😊👍 5y
