"In the church, this emphasis on individualistic understanding of the self is embedded in definitions of sin. Sin is limited almost exclusively to personal behavior, rather than including corporate involvements in societal systems of injustice. The idea that the sins of the fathers really are visited upon the children is dismissed or used to perpetuate personal guilt, instead of revealing a condition of humanity that must be addressed."

Borrowing my mom's new chair to relax + get some reading in on a busy day. 😊 My run/walk really took it out of me this morning! (More of a run by this point - not counting warm-up + cool-down walks, I'm at 20 minutes of running + 4 minutes of walking.) I was feeling tired and did it anyway 💪 but now I'm a little sore and more tired! 😂 Loving resting + reading this feminist Christian book from 1987. 💕 #BookFitnessChallenge #BFC @wanderinglynn

Hit my 10,000 steps today despite recovering from a fibro flare-up (and did very little else), now it's time for some reading in bed. 😊💕 #BookFitnessChallenge #BFC @wanderinglynn

Listening to a talkative owl at the end of the evening as I dig into this. Fav quote so far, regarding authority and the patriarchal church: "What [an unnamed clergywoman] has discovered is that what others might see as a conflict with authority is often a confrontation with power. Thus she recognizes what the hierarchy might designate as her 'authority problem' is really an issue of power." #BookFitnessChallenge #BFC @wanderinglynn

Trashcanman You won't regret, if you choose to believe it. 5y
