Montie Sunshine is recovering from having 11 teeth extracted! But the real purpose of this post is that I am looking for book recommendations for dealing with #dementia or #alzheimers
How to communicate and not get frustrated. I'm about to fly to Florida and evaluate if I need to take the keys away.

ncsufoxes My dad passed away last year from Lewy Body dementia. My mom had & has found support groups helpful. They‘ve helped her process what she & my dad went through. She‘s found most of them on FB. In some states local libraries have social workers on staff that can help find local resources. Senior centers too can have connections to resources. Good luck, I know it‘s a hard journey. 5mo

TEArificbooks Also fiction and a light fluffy romcom but the main characters mother has dementia and their family has to figure out what to do

mandarchy @ncsufoxes thank you! My sincerest condolences. I'm still at the point of suspecting that both my parents are having reality issues. They live across country and their stories didn't always align 5mo

I have more than 6 books checked out - so that's weird. All but 2 are picture books and 100% children's lit. The 11 holds are all #WCCPBA nominees. My school year does not start until the 28th and the kids don't come until after Labor Day. Planning is not going as planned though.

1. Word by Word by Stamper: I took a break from it when books I had on hold came in.
2. Gathering Moss by Kimmerer. I read it when it came out and brought it up in a conversation about Braiding Sweet Grass without knowing it was the same author. Added it today.
3. Invasion of the Ufonauts by Keller. 90% of the books on hold in my account are picture books

1. I used the computers & printers when I didn't have internet. For my son enrichment like Lego or robotics and preschool circle time. While my son plays I use my laptop to access their subscription databases like Ancestry to work on my family tree. Help with my taxes, checked out tickets to museums. 2.
