The greatest super hero of all time returns! The world may have changed since Spidey's been gone, but so has Peter Parker. This is a man with a second chance at life, and he's not wasting a moment of it. But his old foes are back as well - re-energized, out of control and madder than ever: Electro and the Black Cat demand revenge! And as if dealing with them isn't enough, a new revelati on rocks Spider-Man's world to its core: the radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his powers bit someone else, too! Who is Silk, and where has she been all these years? Find out as Peter Parker retakes his life, putting the "friendly" back in the neighborhood, the "hero" back in "super hero..".and the "amazing" back in "Spider-Man!" The Amazing Spider-Man, at the Newmarket comic book shop. - I ended up missing out on the Spider-Man section, picking up 5 comics before the shop owner was in a bit of a mood. "If you're going to flip through those, you'd better start buying some!" ? I did and hurried along. Just one of those days, for a chuckle tale; still going back. Quick flips are a habit, but sure in to spend!

I never thought that something could excite me as much as books do. Well, I was wrong. Feeling quite inspired by the Litsy community I went on the hunt to find a comic / graphic novel store. Living in SA this is not an easy task BUT we recently moved and woohoo I found a store very close to my house! So now I need suggestions on which comics or graphic novels are good to start with? I have a feeling that this store will see me often.

Chessa My fave comics right now are Ms. Marvel, Saga, Lumberjanes, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Rat Queens, and Giant Days. I don't read individual issues usually, I wait for the trade paperback collections of 4-5 issues to come out. Other good ones: Sex Criminals, The Wicked + The Divine, Y: The Last Man. 8y
[DELETED] 2232195534 Lumberjanes!! I was always the teenage girl who stole her little brother's comic books to read. As an over-50 person, I sometimes surprise my friends with how much I love superheroes! So many books are coming out in graphic novel form. Have fun!! 8y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Monstress Vol 1 was my first graphic novel. It is so amazing! 8y

Jellybeanbon @Chessa @kaysreadinglife @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Rjanke @Johanna414 @DragonSadhana @AmandaFields Eeeck!! Thanks so much for the recommendations. I will check everything out. I decided to buy the graphic novel of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. 8y
Jellybeanbon @Chessa I noticed you can buy some in a set. I think that will work better for me too. 8y
Jellybeanbon @DragonSadhana this may be a silly question but I saw Walking Dead comics and graphic novels. Which is better? The novels? 8y
DragonSadhana I prefer the novels, but some people love the comics. I guess it's your preference! 8y

Peter Parker is my soul mate. (Also, NBC should NEVER have cancelled Smash.)
