Pickpick

A better book than expected, this is the story of 3 sisters dealing with a huge family secret & dysfunction in 1960s Ireland. It should have been the story of 2 sisters--the plot is advanced mainly by their stories, the 3rd feels like a distraction. The main stories are well-told, one leading to discovering the secret. The end tidied up too quickly. I would have preferred a 2nd book. A light read good for a pandemic. #readingeurope2020 #Ireland

My latest ebook read for #readingeurope2020 #Ireland. I‘m hoping it‘s a bit lighter than recent reads. The gloomy WWII books are not the best choices for me during this already gloomy time. I‘d love suggestions for lighter books for #readingeurope.

Renee27 How about The Diary of a Bookseller or A Street Cat Named Bob if you've not already tried those :) 4y

Thanks so much for the lovely card Diane @Crazeedi - great to hear all your news! I love receiving cards and letters from abroad, it‘s so exciting!

As you can maybe see from the pic it‘s lovely and sunny here this weekend and I have a comfy chair next to a huuuge lavender bush, so that‘s my reading plans for the weekend!

I‘ll write back soon....😘

Crazeedi I LOVE your lavender bush!! I can smell it from here! I had one for a few years and then it just died out, I'm going to have to plant another one in the spring, I miss picking and drying it for my sachets and such 5y
squirrelbrain I think they do that sometimes don‘t they? They‘re not particularly hardy sometimes, or they get too big and unwieldy.... I‘ve replaced one or two in my garden and I‘ve learnt it‘s best just to go with bog-standard English lavender rather than fancy French ones - lasts much longer! 💜 5y
