Dance for Two
Dance for Two: Essays | Alan Lightman
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
The author of Einstein's Dreams now presents a collection of essays, written over the past 20 years, that displays his genius for bringing literary and scientific concerns into ringing harmony. Sometimes provocative, sometimes fanciful, always elegantly conceived and written, these meditations offer readers a fascinating look into the creative compulsions shared by the scientist and the artist. Reading tour. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Pickpick

Alan Lightman is a musing physicist who lyrically writes about science in a way I just find delightful. I enjoyed these essays (and, frankly, there‘s 2 short stories here as well), in particular the one about our use of technology that holds up quite well even after 20+ years.

Hooked_on_books @squirrelbrain I‘m at 32/50! This one was a surprise—he mentioned he‘d grown up in Tennessee in one of the essays and I needed that state, so it was kind of a freebie. 😬 5y

Unexpected book symmetry! 👊🏼 My print book (Ready Player One) is steeped in 80s pop culture, and the audiobook (tagged) I just started is read by Balki! 😮

I love it when that happens.
