Day 19 of @Andrew65 's #Top20series #20series20days challenge.

The first book in this series was actually written after the ITV series Home Fires was cancelled after 2 series and so after fans wanted more the writer of the t v series started this book series and it starts exactly where the t v series left off. Which for many, myself included, solved the cliffhanger it was left on.

(For my non British followers ITV is a t v channel we have)

Very good. Fans of the T.V series Home Fires will love this as it carries on from exactly where it was left at the end of Series 2 when it was cancelled. As the double entendre of the title suggests. The characters were just as good on paper as they were on screen. Story was well written and even if you haven't seen the series you will love this as it was so engaging and I can't wait for the next book as somethings were left unanswered.

Booknerd2 Didn‘t know it was cancelled. 😭Just finished season 2 on DVD from my library. 5y
Birdsong28 @Booknerd2 Sorry to break the news to you ☹️ It was such a good series. So this is technically series 3 as it picks up exactly where it was left and was written by the writer of the series so it's exactly as what you have seen on TV. Lots fans including myself were in uproar when it finished as it never really concluded but I was glad when heard it was continued in book form. This is the next book 5y
Booknerd2 @Birdsong28 thank you. I will definitely be reading these. 5y

Loving my current read! I did struggle through the first few chapters as I had to remember who everyone was as it follows on from the Home Fires t.v series which ran for 2 series in 2015-16 even though you can pick it up if you haven't seen the series. It is answering questions that were left by the end of the series. Also the #bookmap is helping alot .Just want to say thank you to @laurenbescoby for pointing this book out last year!!

laurieluna I really loved this one! Thanks for reminding me of it and tagging me. 😘 hope you're keeping well! X 5y

Not the tagged book but it's part of the series. I know @miralunasbooknook you got the first from #readersfirst so this might be of interest to you. 😘📚📖

laurieluna Already aware of it! Thank though 😊 I have over 2000 points on there now so I'm waiting until this hopefully comes up, or the sequel to The Last Hours so I can claim one! 😄 6y
Birdsong28 @miralunasbooknook It's ok. I will be keeping a look out for this as well. I didn't realise it was based on the T.V series and I loved that. Also I am waiting for Rosie Goodwin in December as I have got book 2 and 3 from Readers First and it's a series and the next one is out in December and I have been looking on Amazon myself for the sequel (if there is one coming soon) to the last hours. 📚📖 6y
laurieluna @Birdsong28 there is, and it's also on netgalley! X 6y

Well this was an utterly surprising read from #readersfirst 😄
This is so unlike anything I usually read but I have to say I loved it. Lots of different stories happening, being interwoven but it was cohesive and engaging. Lots of emotion and thought processes presented for the characters, and a great set of plots. Will definitely look up the TV show now! 4 stars 😊

LeahBergen I really liked the TV series. 6y
Suzze I loved the tv series. Wish it had continued. 6y
MrBook At first I thought the title was Home Fries. 😂👏🏻🙌🏻 6y
laurieluna @Suzze yeah I did see it was cancelled after 2 series. I'm intrigued to see if the characters are the same! 6y

Started this at half 7 last night and now I'm 140 pages in. For those who know how sporadic my reading is due to caring for 2 small children, that's quite an achievement for me! Really enjoying this. Like The Lost Daughter it is completely not my usual genre but I'm trying to broaden my options. This was from #readersfirst
