Johnny Depp: A Kind of Illusion | Denis Meikle
2 posts
The star of some of the best American films in recent history, Johnny Depp is also one of Hollywoods most versatile and enigmatic actors. From Edward Scissorhands, Whats Eating Gilbert Grape?, Ed Wood, and Donnie Brasco to his Oscar-nominated performances in Pirates of the Caribbean and Finding Neverland his film roles have always been unconventional, earning him international respect and adoration. In Johnny Depp: A Kind of Illusion, film journalist Denis Meikle looks at the effects that Depps rising critical and commercial stature may have on the direction of his career, including his recent film Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

#MOvember @Cinfhen

Cinfhen I‘ve had a crush on him ever since Edward ScissorHands 🤩 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen and Jennifer He‘s from my hometown. I grew up with all his cousins. And there is definitely a “Depp look.” His grandmother went to my church, and on her birthday, he‘d fill her house with pink roses. Yes, he came back for the funeral. And people didn‘t mob him, which was classy, IMO. Anyway...that and having someone from the Real World is our entire claim to fame. 😂 (edited) 4y
Cinfhen That‘s pretty cool @Megabooks and I watched a bunch of seasons of Real World...which cast member is from your town??? 4y
