so-soThis 1993 novel about attempts to divert an earthbound asteroid in 2110 is a quick read with enough historic and scientific tidbits to make one glance at the night sky with unease. No melodrama here, and little characterization - it‘s more of a speculative sketch of how such a problem might be addressed after a century of technological development. Clarke‘s writing can be cold but his vision of the future is worth a look for fans of hard sci-fi.
