I wish I could have gotten into this more but I could not and I honestly just couldn't get into the couple. I still think I will read the second book of this series but it might be a long time before I do.

I was in the mood for some dark romance...this ended up fitting the bill even though it wasn't quite as dark as I thought it was going to be. I found the backstory of the Hero to be rather compelling...and the narration by both Jacob Morgan & Lauren Sweet was phenomenal.

This book was so GOOD! It‘s twisted, dark, completely fucked up, and borderline abusive. And I fucking loved it.
I would recommend this book to those who prefer every possible topping on their ice cream—if you‘re vanilla, you will probably despise this story.

This is a pick but with some serious caveats, it's definitely not gonna be for everyone. It's really dark, like almost verged on TOO dark for my personal taste (TW: their intimate relationship starts with less consent than I'm comfortable with). But if you're into edgy, gritty romance with extreme alpha male types that have complicated, disturbing backstories than this is a solid, quick read. I am loving this dark & gritty romance!

I totally forgot about the new book that just came out in this series! It‘s been a while since I read Prisoner so I‘m going to reread it first then read Hostage.

This book was very steamy, fast-paced, heart breaking and very dark. Grayson was very compelling for a messed-up, broken anti-hero. I'm also glad to see the authors are continuing the story with the other men in the group. I'm looking forward to reading more. All and all it was a good dark romance.

Not for everyone but feverishly intense. I started reading it at an awkward time (between work & dinner plans) and felt absolutely shellshocked and bereft to put it down. I sat through dinner with a hundred-yard stare on my face, nervously sneaking chapters in the bathroom. It's become a cliche that a romance hero had to have survived childhood abuse to explain his emotional remoteness and this felt like the most real, brutal exploration of it
