Off with his whiskers!!
This is iconic when thinking of the movie as well when the queen of hearts says constantly, “Off with his head!”
I enjoyed the occasional picture to relate the text to! This illustration particularly clicked with me because I can picture this scene in the movie version of this story!
Published in 1978 and illustrated by Arthur Rackham, this modern fantasy dives into incredible worlds where at first we are exposed to reality, but not soon after we are falling through the worlds of wonder and imagination! The world Alice visits is so unbelievable that it is believable and extraordinary! Although there are talking animals in this story, the overarching idea is that Alice is exploring a whole new world out of the ordinary!
This was between a pick and a so-so. It was fun and quirky, reminding me of watching the Disney movie as a kid. Not my favorite story, but it did remind me of my happy place - WDW. Originally this was a pick for #newyearwhodis but considering how rough January was for reading I ended up using it for #booked2019 #remindsyouofyourhappyplace
