3 posts | 7 read | 1 reading | 6 to read
An emotional, revealing memoir of one family's life in seclusion--and the love, strength, and faith it took to save it.Seahawks star running back Curt Warner and his wife, Ana, were prominent figures in Seattle in the early 1990s. When they dropped from the public eye after Curt's retirement, everyone assumed it was for a simpler life. But the reality behind their seclusion was a secret they hid from even their closest friends: their twins, Austin and Christian, had been diagnosed with severe autism. What followed was a painful struggle to hold their family and their marriage together in a home filled with chaos, emotional exhaustion, and constant fear for the safety of their unpredictable but beloved boys. Now, after years of silence, the Warners share their inspiring journey from stardom and success to heartbreaking self-imposed isolation. Above all, it's a story of the life-changing truth that love for family and each other--no matter how challenged--is the path to healing and peace. The Warner Boys is the true story of a family who fought for their children and how they grew stronger against all odds.

to understand Autism you have to hear it from parents who live with it. learning about Autism from medical books you don‘t get the whole picture.
this book was a good insight to how parents live with loved ones with Autism.

Come-read-with-me This sounds good! Nothing beats a book written by an “insider.” Can hardly wait to read it! 3y

Curt Warner is well known because of his career as the Seattle Seahawks running back in the 80s. He has recently become an advocate in the autism community after speaking out about the struggles he and his wife Ana faces raising twin boys with ASD. This is a heartbreaking book and I appreciate the different perspective. As a mother to a higher functioning ASD child, it was important for me to step outside of my own experiences. #carrymehome ⤵️

Reviewsbylola I was reminded of the importance of family and love because, as the Warners pointed out, this is truly a story about love. #timbittunes 5y

This was a free new release on Amazon. I really didn't know anything about Curt Warner or his family. This book is written in alternating chapters with his wife, Ana.
The focus is on their twin boys who have autism. What a challenge. I can't even imagine the mental and physical exhaustion. Curt and Ana have a strong marriage and a strong faith.
I am glad I read their story. More people need to be educated as more and more children are diagnosed.

Reviewsbylola Definitely stacking! 5y
