American Judas
American Judas | Mickey Dubrow
1 post | 1 read
Mickey Dubrow's debut novel is a dystopian tale about a young couple's life after opportunists U.S. politicians abolish the wall of separation between the Church and State. Seth and Maggie Ginsberg do their best to navigate an oppressive theocracy where fundamental Christianity is the only legal religion, and abortion, homosexuality, and adultery are illegal. When a co-worker outs Seth as a Jew, he escapes to Mexico, but Maggie is sent to a savior camp. American Judas mixes political satire, suspense, and family drama.

Mehso-so

Listed as mystery/thriller this book leans more dystopia to me. The Far Right Christian element passes the CHRIST act which names Christianity as the only sanctioned US religion and laws that follow and their consequences mirror those in other states around the world where the church and state barrier does not exist. Interesting food for thought but too neatly wraps up.
