On the Origin of Species
On the Origin of Species | Charles Darwin, Sabina Radeva
2 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
The first ever picture-book retelling of Charles Darwin's On The Origin of Species; this accessible work brings evolution to the younger generation through stylish illustrations and a simple, easy-to-understand text. On The Origin of Species has been the definitive explanation of the theory of evolution since it was first published in 1859. Now molecular biologist and illustrator Sabina Radeva unites her two passions to create a 48-page retelling of this seminal text. Pulling together Darwin's observations from his travels around the world and his groundbreaking - and controversial - explanation of how species form, develop and change over hundreds of thousands of years, On The Origin of Species is as relevant and important now as it ever was.

Pickpick

A picture book introduction to evolution, natural selection and Darwin‘s work. The appendix updates the science, briefly discussing DNA, and also includes a few misconceptions about evolution. Intricate pictures for younger readers, and quite a lot of content for older picture-book lovers!

#BBRC #A2Z and I think that‘s my picture book list complete! @LibrarianRyan @Sarahreadstoomuch

Another educational book we helped bring into existence! It finally arrived yesterday. I would never have been allowed to look at this when I was a child, ☹️😑. Anyone can believe what they want, or laugh as well—but the story of evolution is quite amazing and beautiful, with evidence constantly unfolding all around us. Thank you, Darwin for your contribution to the world, & to authors like this who encourage learning and make it fun.
