Lucy: The Beginnings of Humankind | Donald Johanson, Maitland Edey, Maitland Armstrong Edey

Listening to the Yorkshire wind and rain outside while tucked up with a hot water bottle and a book in bed. 💙

The current situation vis-a-vis hominids is so tangled and argumentative it's hard to figure anything out. This book's out of date, but Lucy is so iconic I wanted to know more about where she came from.

...now if my wife could STOP STEALING MY COVERS.

This looks promising! The story of Lucy, the oldest discovered hominid to date! Written by the discoverer, Donald Johanson (and Maitland Edey - who I don‘t know if he had any involvement in the discovery or not yet,) this looks to be an easily accessible account of not only the lucky find but the skeleton‘s relevance and importance.
