Pick a Pine Tree
Pick a Pine Tree | Jarvis, Patricia Toht
4 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
From the winner of the V&A Best Illustrated Book 2017 From Alan's Big, Scary Teeth creator, Jarvis, and author Patricia Toht, comes a beautiful, irresistible Christmas gift book that all begins with ... picking a pine tree! Brimming over with the excitement of being with family at the festive season, a gorgeously rhythmical, read-aloud narrative accompanied by warm, joyful art celebrates all the familiar rituals of decorating the tree - from digging out jam-packed boxes of trimmings, stringing tinsel, to, at last, turning on those twinkly fairy lights.

Another night of fun Christmas books. I used to wrap books and do an book count down but we have so many to get through (plus I don‘t need to be adding extra trash, even though we recycle, to the environment). #merryreaders #christmasgames2020

Thought I'd share some of my daughter's Christmas book haul. This one was in her Christmas Eve box to be read at bedtime (along with 'Twas the night before Christmas' which is obligatory.) The rhyme & the illustrations are gentle and calm so the excitement doesn't bubble over into 'never going to sleep' territory. But it has that anticipatory magic that is so special and it was a joy to share.
