The Great Book of Chocolate
The Great Book of Chocolate: The Chocolate Lover's Guide with Recipes | David Lebovitz
4 posts | 2 to read
A compact connoisseur's guide, with recipes, to today's cutting-edge array of chocolates and chocolate makers from former Chez Panisse pastry chef David Lebovitz. In this compact volume, David Lebovitz gives a succinct cacao botany lesson, explains the process of chocolate making, runs through chocolate terminology and types, presents information on health benefits, offers an evaluating and buying primer, profiles the world's top chocolate makers and chocolatiers (with a whole chapter dedicated to Paris alone!), and shares dozens of little-known factoids in sidebars throughout the book. The Great Book of Chocolate includes more than 50 location and food photographs, and features more than 30 of Lebovitz's favorite chocolate recipes from Black-Bottom Cupcakes to Homemade Rocky Road Candy, Orange and Rum Chocolate Mousse Cake to Double Chocolate Chip Espresso Cookies. His extensive resource section (with websites for international ordering) can bring the world's best chocolate to every door. A self-avowed chocoholic, Lebovitz nibbles chocolate every day and with The Great Book of Chocolate in hand, he figures the rest of us will too.

Finally got my #Jolabokaflod packages in the mail today! I ended up with two because the email for my first entry sorted to my junk folder and I thought it hadn‘t gone through, so I filled out the form again. That about sums up how my year has been! LOL.

Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing.

Bookish_AF Hello hello!! I just wanted to check in and see if you did in fact receive your #jolabokaflod swap from me? I sent it around the beginning of the month and since you aren‘t far from me I think it was delivered the next day 😀 USPS makes me nervous this time of year now after the craziness last year ! 2y
PatriciaU I did receive it. It came the week we had to make the tough decision to say goodbye to one of our pups, and I just forgot about posting a picture. Getting it was a bright spot that week! Can‘t wait to open it! 2y
PatriciaU @Branwen, one of these is headed your way. Tracking says USPS tried to deliver yesterday and didn‘t have access to your address. Just letting you know they are trying again today. 2y
Branwen Oooh YAY! Thank you so much! I'm super excited! I will post a pic and tag you when I get it! The USPS in my area is total crap - when they say they didn't have access, that is code for 'we didn't deliver any mail to your building at all that day'. *sigh* I will keep an eye out for it! 💕👍📚 2y

I signed up for my very first book swap on Litsy and I am so excited! I don‘t exactly know how to repost and I‘ve butchered the picture a bit. So sorry @MaleficentBookDragon and thank you for hosting this swap.

BethM Screen shot and then when you upload use the transform@button in the lower left. Took me a while to figure it out too! 5y
