A suspenseful and highly original technothriller based on breathtaking developments in the field of thought-controlled systems and cyber warfare. Eric Sderqvist, professor of computer science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, has invented Mind Surf: a thought-controlled system that allows people with disabilities to browse the web. Samir Mustaf is a former MIT professor whose daughter Mona was killed by an Israeli cluster bomb five years earlier. He has just developed the most sophisticated computer virus the world has ever seen, for the purpose of a cyber attack against Israels financial system. Erics wife Hanna falls into a coma struck by an aggressive and previously unknown virus after having tested her husbands invention. The doctors are at a loss. Although everyone around him thinks hes gone mad, Eric is convinced that his wife has been infected by a powerful computer virus known as Mona, and that the only way he can save her is by tracking down its creator.

Pickpick

I loved almost everything once I was able to keep all the characters apart because at that point the puzzle begins to form a whole story that can be recognised. It was very good entertainment but to be honest it felt a bit like an average sci-fi thriller. – Until the end. The last 40 minutes just left me shivering and a bit speechless, in a similar way that Mark Elsberg‘s “Blackout” did a few years ago.

if you ask me, “Mona” is worth reading.

With its frequent changes in place and characters, this book is none to here and there squeeze in some minutes.

I like how easy the centre issue is implemented. I‘m sure it is sci-fi but while listening I didn‘t doubt for a minute that things could happen exactly the way Sehlberg presents them.

Feels like Scandinavian writing ✍🏼 at its best‼️

How is all of you doing❓I accomplished paperwork that was supposed to be done quickly – in 5 hours. 🙄

My current audiobook.
I needed about one hour to find into because the prologue and the 3 following chapters lacked connection – but now I‘m hooked, I think.

I‘m audiobooking in bed. Yesterday was so exhausting at work. I had a bad day with lots of overtime work, a bad night with few sleep and needed to cancel all my weekend plans. That makes me so sad. 😭
