Yesterday had it's fine moments, weather-wise, and as we were next to the Leeds-Liverpool Canal for a legitimate purpose (covid-splaining), we had a bit of a walk. Chimneys like this one are much rarer now than during Lancashire's industrial past, and as much as the climate crisis was born out of these phallic objects, it's still nice to see a few survivors.
(I think I've just said I like to see a random penis by the canalside 🍆🤔)

veritysalter We still have a few in Yorkshire, your photo made me think of (and miss) Saltaire - so many places to visit when we can get out. 3y
Bookwomble @veritysalter There's more of the old industrial heritage in East Lancs - I'm in West Lancs, so we were more farming and fishing than industry, though plenty of mills in the cities. Yorkshire's lovely; we've not spent enough time there. As you say, when we can get out again ... 💗 3y
