Cujo: The Untold Story of My Life on and Off the Ice (None)
Cujo: The Untold Story of My Life on and Off the Ice (None) | Kirstie McLellan Day, Curtis Joseph
3 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Curtis Joseph, known affectionately to hockey fans around the world as Cujo, was an unlikely NHL superstar. The boy from Keswick, Ontario, didn't put on a pair of skates until most kids his age were already far along in organized hockey, and he was passed over by every team in the NHL draft. Despite an unorthodox start, he would go on to play 18 seasons with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes, and Calgary Flames, winning an Olympic gold medal along the way. For the first time, in this revealing memoir, Joseph talks about his highly unusual upbringing and what led him to pursue hockey. Fans will not want to miss this untold story of perseverance and finding one's own path.

The book follows the life of cutis Joseph and his road to NHL stardom. He was passed by every team in the NHL draft despite his Olympic gold medalist skills. Behind the mask the book elaborates on his painful home life as a child and his struggles with mental health. Despite this he developed an inspiring philosophy that propelled him into a successful life.

Nixon 9/10 rating it is told in first person 3y

Very good so far, I‘m not finished yet but it tells an awesome story that‘s almost unbelievable. So far it has explained the troubles he‘s went through as a child with his troubled mom and his longing for affection. It has briefly touched in his junior hockey years and some of the hockey culture and play style of that era.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Nixon! I was missing the photo and motif/explanation - but overall not bad! 3/6 3y
