3.5⭐️

Taking a well rounded approach to the history of the diamond industry, this book provides the reader with information on the history (both good and bad) of the industry, details on how diamonds are made and found, and the process of how they start in the ground to when they end up in jewelry. I really enjoyed the focus on the mafia style actions of the De Beers company and stories behind the discovery and ownership of diamonds

Pickpick

This book starts out very slow, but gets better. I thought the history of the diamond industry, while a bit over detailed, was fascinating, especially the rise of India as a diamond cutting country and the forward steps that Debeers took to try to get ahead of the conflict diamond issue. A interesting read and I suggest it for anyone interested in the stones and the industry that creates the desire for them. 3/5 stars
