Fun historical mystery set in 1920s. Lady Adelaide, a young widow, throws a weekend house party at the country estate she inherited from her husband. Two people are murdered, and Addie is being haunted by her husband's very annoying ghost who helps her solve the mystery.

Well, it's between a pick and a so-so.
It is very well written, with interesting characters, who act realistically. As a story, l really liked it.

As a mystery... so-so. The story is full of red herrings which sometimes felt forced and incongruent. And the ending was very unfulfilling, at least for me. Felt like the author chose the most unlikely suspect and gave them a reason good enough to close the story.

The ghost was quite unnecessary.

So then. I've just decided l'm not doing any more challenges. I'm useless at them.
This is my pitiful result for the #NetGalleyReviewathon l went for 4 books, started 3, finished none.

I am going to finish at least two. But still...

Foreign Bodies is quite good, but now l need a more involving read. Anthology are a bit tricky like that.
I will finish it, but now l want to try one of the other novels.

I was hoping to finish this tonight, but I don't think it's going to happen. Sigh, what a Monday.

Hah! This was fun! Cozy mystery, delightfully rotten cast of suspects, and any romantic elements very nicely constrained. I want a second book. (Maybe come fall?)

So far, we have a dead body, a ghost (not the same person), an English rose widow, a POC detective, and two or maybe three meddling families, in interwar Britain. I think I've read a grand total of one other romance in a British setting with a brown hero, and I think that was a Milan.

#pricedrop! Oh, sales are so hard to resist.

I just couldn't get into this book, right now. So, I don't have an opinion one way or the other. I may try again in the future.
