The Jungle | Joe Robertson, Joe Murphy
3 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Okot wants nothing more than to get to the UK. Beth wants nothing more than to help him. Join the hopeful, resilient residents of 'The Jungle', the refugees and volunteers from around the globe who gather at the Afghan Café. They're just across the Channel, right on our doorstep. Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson's The Jungle premiered as a coproduction between Young Vic and the National Theatre with Good Chance Theatre, commissioned by the National Theatre, opening at the Young Vic, London, in December 2017. The play transferred to the Playhouse Theatre, London, in June 2018.

This plug is only marginally book-related, but friends in the New York area, do not miss this play. I saw it tonight and it was every bit as joyful and shattering as it was on the page. If you're not going to see it, then find the script and read it- it's a stunning piece of theatre. #readmoreplays #seemoreplays #theatre

I've been obsessing about this play for many months now. To my Litten friends in and around London, go see this incredible, heartbreaking piece of theatre while you can. To everyone else, grab the script and come to "the place where people suffered and dreamed. Meet the residents of The Jungle, who share stories of hope against all odds." #readmoreplays #theatre
