Hoofin' It
Hoofin' It: A Magical Romantic Comedy (with a Body Count) | R. J. Blain
2 posts | 1 read
All Shane wanted was to get away from the wreckage of his career for a while. He picked New York City to provide him with a distraction from his early, unwanted retirement from the police force. New York City delivered, distracting him with three corpses and a miniature llama with a spitting problem and an attitude. If he wants to return to a normal life, he'll have to face off against a sex trafficking ring targeting the woman of his dreams, ancient vampires, murderous criminals, his parents, and an FBI agent with a hidden agenda. Some days, it isn't easy being an ex-cop. Warning: This novel contains excessive humor, action, excitement, adventure, magic, romance, and bodies. Proceed with caution.

Hehehe - I love the ads at the bottom of the bookbub emails.

This one made me think of Yzma exclaiming “a llama? he‘s supposed to be dead!” in Emperor‘s New Groove…

Read-y_Picker LLAMA FACE! Omg I can't take this image. There's so much to unpack, so many possibilities. Like I wonder if the 'model' knows what his image was used for lol. 2y
mariaku21 All I heard was Yzma screaming "He's supposed to be dead!" ? 2y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Read-y_Picker , I have never considered the fact that these might be stock images that have been edited 😂 2y
CarolynM I think that book would either be hilarious or extraordinarily uncomfortable reading🤣 2y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CarolynM - it‘s part of a long running series - but i suspect you are right (edited) 2y

A magical romantic comedy... with a body count. 😂

And only $0.99 atm! Yay sale!

I'm so excited to have found this one! The first chapter was hilarious, so I bought it. It has a good bit of cursing, so that might not be for you, but I grew up in New Jersey. (At home, cursing was a federal offense. At school, it was a survival skill. I learned to compartmentalize.)
