My first cucumbers of the season!
My first cucumbers of the season!
So about three weeks ago when I was making ginger ale I noticed my ginger root had two rhizomes budding on it. One looked kind of blah but the other looked promising, so I cut both off, kept them hydrated and this week I planted them. The one seems like it's dying but this one is looking good! (surprisingly)
Inspired by the tagged book - today‘s little project! I‘ve turned a flower pot into a little pond - complete with solar panel fountain! The sound of the water is so lovely! This might be my new favourite reading spot!
Today was potting day in my garden! I potted up tomatoes & basil for my greenhouse, started some poppy, hollyhock, lupins & sunflower seeds, potted a blueberry bush & a peperomia for my kitchen table. The hubby connected up a misting system for inside the greenhouse and started digging over my new Aussie natives garden. Productive day all round👩🏻🌾Tomorrow is a Bunnings day to buy more potting mix & seeds. #bloominglitsy #keeplitsypositive
Not strictly a book post but after 70 degree & sunny weather yesterday & thunderstorms with hail overnight, it‘s another 50 degree overcast day here in Chicago. Tomorrow it‘s supposed to be in the 80s—I love spring in the city! 🌥⛈🌸🌼⛈🌥 So after a little coffee & Trillium, I decided to visit the Lincoln Park Conservatory (open year round & free to the public) to brighten the day. And then I thought I‘d share some pictures. Happy Friday everyone!

A slow start for me, but I did some container gardening today. I also started a book called When the Moon Was Ours.
I planted sunflower seeds 14 days ago. These beauties need watered twice a day due to the dry heat. They will be giant sunflowers in 3 weeks. I am a container gardener due to the desert sand. I needed help when I moved here a few months ago. I never had to garden in the desert. It is going successfully 🦋🌻🤗🍃🌱🌿
Gathering ideas for the garden - looking to out a little order to the chaos! This book seems super easy to follow and has lots of cool ideas and planting combinations. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
