Book, coffee, and candle on this overcast morning since it‘s a bit too humid to sit outside.
Happy that the porches are back in service and ready for reading!

Hey ladies, sorry this book is a bit long. Hopefully, you don't mind.
I will get it sent out probably Monday.
I really enjoyed this book, it's magic and the fact that it is set in Paris.

I am in love with this book! The politics, the characters, the twists and turns of the plot all kept me engaged! I loved how deep the characters were. You instantly form a connection with Camille and Lazare, and Alain is so frustrating you hate seeing his name. The villain is fantastic, but I do wish his motives were explored a little more.
I highly highly recommend this book!
My full review on my Goodreads!
Enchantee really lives up to its name, with a beautiful depiction of courtly life in the time of Marie Antoinette. Camille can work magic, and she needs it. Orphaned, with a sick sister to support and a wastrel brother, she uses her wits and magical skills to keep her family together. With intrigue round every corner and where a face is but a courtly mask, she has to learn who to trust and who to fear. Wonderful, with fabulous attention to detail.
My reading buddy is back where she belongs.
Zelda‘s got some meds for the next couple weeks, but is otherwise doing great. â¤ï¸
Distracting myself with reading while my poor kitty is having surgery. (Just a dental cleaning, but I worry.)
I‘m really enjoying Enchantée, but then, it‘s magic in the French Revolution: what‘s not to like?
Writing style is fun and there are great characters.
I‘ve been in a weird reading mood lately. Like I don‘t know what I want to read, I just know it‘s not the books I planned or are supposed to be reading.
It‘s almost like I‘ve been reading too many books, if that‘s a thing ð¤ªð¤¦ââï¸ð¤·ð»ââï¸
I‘m hoping this will break me out of it.
I‘ve picked up 3 different books this week and haven‘t been able to get into any of them.
As a French Revolution nerd, I was impressed by this book. Hereâs my full review: https://booksonpointe.wordpress.com/2019/02/27/blog-tour-enchanted-by-enchantee/
Y'all! I actually liked this WAY more than I thought I would! The asshole brother doesn't get to be an asset and then just get a pass (I've read so many damn books like that. Where it's just never challenged or anything). I liked the mc and her sister. I think the politics and magic needed a bit more fleshing out and I think the use of Marie Antoinette was less of a climax than I had expected. Good twist ending and lots of character development.

Camilleâs older brother is abusive to Camille and her sister, to protect them, Camille begins to practice dark magic and transforms herself as a baroness to enter the Palace of Versailles to try to make money
great characters and the relationship between Camille and her sister, Sophie is strong and emotional. I loved the historical part of Paris at such a turbulent time.
Sometimes we need fantasy to survive reality.
Hi Littens! I could say that I believe in magic. Sometimes people think that I'm weirdo because of that.
Do you believe in magic?
Enchantee was in February LitJoy Crate box and I'm so excitement to read it.

This book sounded tailor-made for me. Revolutionary (well, immediately preceding) France fantasy with magic, masquerades, and not exclusively straight white characters? I‘m so there. and yet...
I did really enjoy it- i finished in just a few days- despite some frustrating petty details I wished were different. Dramatic (sometimes over the top), ultimately satisfying, and left me wanting a sequel, because I know what‘s coming, historically! ð¬
Likely an unpopular opinion but I liked, definitely did not love, this debut YA book which has received glowing reviews, from authors & critics, for its story about sisters making their way in a magic infused, late 18th c. Paris. It has all the elements of a successful story but I found the pacing slow & story ok but not compelling. I also found the frequent interjection of French words more annoying than anything else. Good not great for me.
My BOTM and my moms BOTM is here!!!
I‘ve been home sick for the past two days, so I‘ve gotten a lot of reading done and this book was one of my anticipated books of the year.
Rating: 5/5 Stars
This book exceeded my expectations and was so beautifully done. The magic system and it being in Paris, made it amazing. This book is very hard to put down with the drama that goes down. I cannot wait for book 2!

Starting this before bed. This is the one I was wishing I had put on my backpack earlier today, haha. The story sounds really interesting, there‘s magic, and I‘m a sucker for novels that take place in Paris.
