Ellison Wonderland
Ellison Wonderland: Stories | Harlan Ellison
2 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Originally published in 1962 and updated in later decades with a new introduction, Ellison Wonderland contains sixteen masterful stories from the authors early career. This collection shows a vibrant young writer with a wide?ranging imagination, ferocious creative energy, devastating wit, and an eye for the wonderful and terrifying and tragic. Among the gems are All the Sounds of Fear, The Sky Is Burning, The Very Last Day of a Good Woman, and In Lonely Lands. Though they stand tall on their own merits, they also point the way to the sublime stories that followed soon after and continue to come even now, more than fifty years later.

Pickpick

I give this a pick with an *. Chapters 9-25 are great Ellison stories, mostly written in the 50s and 60s but still wonderfully witty and inventive. Chapters 1-8 contains two introductions, one from the original and one from the 2015 reissue, plus essays about Ellison's favorite subject: Harlan Ellison. If you make it through the first 8 chapters, you'll find some great stories. 3 💥💥💥 1/2

Ruthiella I‘ve only read “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream”, a story which still haunts me, decades later. 😱 3y
