Lots of people in lots of places across the country are doing things to try to make the world better by sourcing locally. It was interesting to learn about some of those different things. The author has a section at the end where she tries to help offer suggestions on what people can do/look for/ask if they want to move toward eating locally. She admits that she isn‘t perfect about it, but really, every little bit helps.

I was mildly concerned that this might be a bit preachy but I quickly got over that and really enjoyed how Elton laid this out (the first half about farming, the second about cities) and how each chapter narrowed on a particular region as a case study. There were so many interesting farmers and producers in here - and I definitely feel compelled to make some changes in my own food habits.
