Finally, I've decided to start reading again! With this highly acclaimed book! I hope it rekindles the joy of reading that has been screenjacked for so long.

Certainly not an easy, fun or entertaining read, but a necessary one in our current political moment and world climate. I would have given up on this book in high school but I‘ve lived enough now to understand it and see current scary parallels. I don‘t think our country will ever get to the point of 1984, but just seeing parallels right now is plenty scary enough. Glad I‘m reading it. #greatamericanread

CoffeeNBooks Great book! I've read it several times, and I teach it in my AP Literature class. 6y

RaimeyGallant The parallels are indeed scary. 6y
Cedricsmom I finished this classic on July 4. The book continues to blow my mind as I am still thinking about various passages written after Winston is taken into the Ministry of Love by the Party. O‘Brien is a fascinating character because he got the best, most thought-provoking lines in the book. I know a lot of people read this in high school but I didn‘t and I am so glad because I was way too clueless then to understand what makes this book incredible. 6y
