The Greedy Bastard Diary
The Greedy Bastard Diary: Around the States in 80 Days | Eric Idle
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
A stunningly witty exploration of the American landscape -- not to mention a brilliant comic's mind -- this diary is chock-full of everything you ever wanted to know about Eric Idle, Monty Python, America, and sleeping on a bus. In these pages, the sixth-nicest Python is cheeky, touching, and funny when recounting the riotous tales of his beginnings, his affectionate reminiscences of his fellow Pythons, traveling the world, and taking us backstage at the smash Broadway hit Spamalot. Fascinating, moving, at times even amusing, this book will dramatically improve your sex life, will make you feel intelligent and charming within the first several pages, and after a few chapters, will permanently eliminate all your personal or health problems. So come experience eighty days, 15,750 miles, and forty-nine cities as you never have before!

My love for Monty Python compelled me to buy this when it first came out in 2005...and it has been dutifully gathering dust on my shelf ever since. But the random number generator has spoken! I finally cracked it open!

#CantBuyMeLove always makes me think of the Rutles, the Beatles parody band, whose second movie is called "Can't Buy Me Lunch". (I don't have it, just the first one, All You Need is Cash.) The Rutles were the brainchild of Eric Idle, whose Greedy Bastard Diary is my choice of book for today. It contains a lovely chapter about his friendship with George Harrison ♥️ #heyjune

TrishB Hubby loves these! I‘ve just preordered him a signed version of the new Idle book which is out in October! 6y
rabbitprincess @TrishB Ooh I need to get a copy of that as well! Thanks for the reminder 😉 6y
