The first book haul of 2024. I was especially happy to find Fuzzy Nation, the only book by Scalzi I haven't read, and Robots Versus Slime Monsters, a short story collection by A. Lee Martinez, another favorite author.

Christmas book haul. This is in addition to having my NYRB book club membership renewed. I think everyone has finally given up on trying to find creative gifts to give me and just defaults to books or coffee (which is fine by me 😁).
Hit the Friends of the Library Fall sale
The shorter stack is for me; the rest are for my #LFL which is on schedule for a November 1 launch 😁
I got a good #bookhaul from the used bookstore. I've been wanting to try the Thursday Next series, so I was thrilled to see they had The Eyre Affair (and the rest if I want to continue the series). I remember Urshurak from when I was like 15, but it looked too much like a LOTR ripoff so I skipped it. I'll read anything by John Scalzi & Mike Resnick.

After a quick trip to the used book store to drop off a load of books, I decided to treat myself. I was already getting the Star Wars book, but I'm excited to read the book about 80s action stars. The author wrote a very good book, Wild & Crazy Guys, about 80s comedy stars.

What's the best way to deal with Litsy's current condition? Buy more books of course!! For those who can't see, I got The Cradle of Ice by James Rollins and Into The Light by David Weber & Chris Kennedy. The Rollins' book just came out earlier this year and I already found a copy in the bargain section of BAM! Score!!

Yes!!!
I might have gotten a little carried away at today's bookstore visit, but it's been awhile since I splurged. 4 of these books were on my wishlist to read. The Dan Jones book I'd been eager to read after reading his excellent book on the Dark Ages, Powers and Thrones. The Lore book was just a whim, it sounded interesting.

I love the library semi-annual sale 😁
Look at my lovely pile of books just waiting for me 🥰
I‘ve already started Pineapple Street - you‘re right @squirrelbrain it‘s not quite as good as I was expecting -
Picked up the February BookPage at the library the other day; needless to say my TBR shelf is gonna run out of room 🙇🏻♀️😁
I live an hour away from civilization and many, many hours from a B&N, so when my travel day fell on the 50% sale, it was meant to be. I found 2 of the 5 books I wanted (pictured) which brings me up to FIVE books for my THREE day trip. Lol, I probably won‘t even finish my current book but I live that ‘bring way too many books with me‘ lifestyle and I ain‘t quitting that anytime soon. 🙃📚📚🤓
Family book haul!
Love the book talks ❤️
Here‘s my lovely #BookHaul that I‘ve been slowly shipping to my parents. I honestly can‘t remember which books work for which challenges but I‘ll figure it all out in the coming days! I know I‘ve got a few from #TOB23 longlist and then #Booked2023 #ReadingTheAmericas23 and #52BookClub #MyFavoriteTimeOfTheYear #ChallengePlanning
Anyone see anything that‘s outstanding???
Nothing better, after a long day at work where everyone called off and I had to work alone, to come home to some book mail.

Delightful kids book about the British library. I want to go there . Book is easy to read and very well illustrated. I love it. Was being discarded by our library .
It's been too long since I did a nice splurge at the bookstore.
I can never have too many Star Trek novels, and All of the Marvels is something I've been very eager to read. I read Bad Days in History a couple of years ago, I didn't know there was a sequel.
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
Nothing nicer, after a hard day at work, to come home to a little bookmail. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in Ann Leckie's series. I'm a bit bummed about the James Blish book. Someone tried to remove the price sticker, and did a piss poor job of it. I'll have to try some glue gone to salvage the cover.
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
Do I need more books? Nope. Did I get more anyway?
YEP. Happy birthday to me 😂😂😂 y‘all, whoever mentioned PangoBooks is my hero. I got all of these plus she threw in a free ARC - for $25.00!! And these are all like new condition. #bookhaul 😂🤷♀️
I don't know if it was the heat, but my phone connection has been down all day and I couldn't post on Litsy.
Anyway, I grabbed these books at Goodwill today when I ventured out into the heat. I'm kind of annoyed at Goodwill. For awhile they were putting price stickers on the spines or on the back cover, but now they've gone back to putting them on the front, and they're a bitch to get off without messing up the cover. 😡😡😡
It feels like forever since I made a trip to the used book store. Didn't find much of interest, I was trying to avoid books that were parts of series (gets harder and harder every day).

Dollar Tree for the win!
Found these between two stores yesterday!
Come join us for round 15. I signed up for two groups Group B (BOTM backlog) and Group M (Cozy mystery). Still two slots available for each. And if you don‘t fancy those there‘s lots of variety or start your own group.
See @suvata for signup link.
I went to the local library book sale, but sadly not much of interest, lots of romance novels, Clive Cussler, James Patterson and Dick Francis novels. I found a couple of interesting things so no trip is a waste.

New #bookmail from MySciFiClub. I'm glad they're both stand alone stories, I have too many series going now to start more. I've only read Sandman Slim by Kadrey, and I didn't care for it, but this sound interesting. As for the other book, I've not read anything by Guy Gavriel Kay, but I've seen lots of good reviews for him on Litsy & Goodreads.

Dad is getting rid (aka donating) a bunch of his books to the library and these are the ones I rescued to read before donating them myself 📚📚

Happy Friday! Looked over from my desk and saw this cutie watching! #catsoflitsy
Time for some new books since I finished, for now, the #bookbuyingdiet
The Big Kahuna - I need to finish the last two books in the Fox & O'Hare series #FinishTheSeries
Rabbits - I've heard good and bad things about this, but it sounds like a real mind f@ck, and I like those kind of books.
The Misfit Soldier - A new author for me, but it's a standalone novel which is a plus.
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
A little late uploading as my little one has been a bit sick this week but this is my list for #bookspin March. Can‘t wait to see if I can finish a couple more books this month 🤞🏻
@TheAromaofBooks
What is even wrong with me? I just cannot turn down a hold I‘ve been waiting on for forever.
Today was a beautiful sunny day, so of course a trip to the used book store was in order, I had several books to give them, saved up over quarantine and winter. With this book haul it's time to start another #bookbuyingdiet round. No more books until I read 10 off my TBR shelves.
My first official bookhaul of 2022, courtesy of MySciFiClub. Both December and January's box came on the same day, so more books for me!! Soon it will be time for another #bookbuyingdiet to slim out the shelves, but I'll save that for February.
Interesting article on downsizing, especially your books!

My order from World of Books was 2 days late, an ominous foreshadowing for future holiday shipping, but better late than never.

Popped into Goodwill this evening, and found these three goodies. Coincidentally, I almost bought On Target earlier in the day at BAM, but decided to wait. I guess the book gods wanted me to have it for a buck instead of paying 9.99 😁😁
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
Although the local Goodwill no longer has the large book area it had pre-covid, it's still possible to get lucky and find a nice #bookhaul.
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
Finally! I'm so impatient. #botm
Dropped some books off at the used book store today, so of course I had to pick up a few to keep the balance replenished.
#nevertoomanybooks #neverenoughshelves
I fell off the wagon today. I was in the used book store and there were just too many good books to pass up. I did make it to 13 books of the 20 I planned for my #bookbuyingdiet , and only bought 5 today, so I have chipped a little off #tbrmountain.
Here is my #bookspin and #doublespin for August. My bookspin has been on the list since April last year when I first joined. I'm looking forward to these reads as usual. If it wasn't for this game, these books would have probably sat unread for years.
@TheAromaofBooks
July was a bad reading month for me. Let's hope August will be better. I hope to do better with #bookspin and #doublespin. Here is my bingocard.
Out:
Lady Oracle - Margaret Atwood
Fortuna's dochter - Isabel Allende
In:
Genesis - Karin Slaughter
Sophie's choice - William Styron
I got asked if I get book shamed often 🤷🏻♀️😝
Um 😅 I read what I want …
I do find people get seriously upset when you don‘t like a book they loved, but again 🤷🏻♀️ not my problem.
Interesting.
FYI she asked because I read so much classic literature and Shakespeare and “no popular” titles… whatever that means.
Does this happen to you?
Pic of a stack of my old books I love..
