THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL BEGAN After years of the deadly Affliction, those who remainthe surviving humans and the new generation of animal-hybrid childrenare searching for answers. And one place in all the world seems to have them: Northern Alaska. It was here, in this faraway, frozen wilderness that the Affliction first took root, before eventually spreading its devastation throughout the globe. Gus, Jepperd and their friends are traveling north to the remote research outpost where Gus was born, in the hope that understanding the plagues source will lead to a cure. What power was unleashed in the frozen tundra? Can it be stopped? But even if the survivors reach their goal, there might not be anything left of humanity to save Gus and Jepperds postapocalyptic journey comes to a heart-stopping, heartbreaking conclusion in this final deluxe hardcover, written and illustrated by Jeff Lemire (DESCENDER, GREEN ARROW) with additional art by Matt Kindt (MIND MGMT). SWEET TOOTH: THE DELUXE EDITION BOOK THREE collects issues 26-40 as well as never-before-seen sketches and an interview with the author and Damon Lindelof (co-creator of LOST and THE LEFTOVERS).

The suspense was too much and I had to roll right into book three😂 It‘s strange to say an apocalyptic tale is heartwarming, but Lemire manages it. At times frightening, horrific, sad, but also joyful, hopeful, and peaceful this book really packs a hard punch. I‘m not sure if it‘s meant to be a cautionary tale or just a dark prediction, but it works either way. I‘ll be thinking about this one for a while.

The ending is bittersweet. The start off book 3 is a little odd compared to the rest of the story, but it is needed as it is the origin story of Gus. The group is still traveling, this time they are heading to Alaska. But this is a post-apocalyptic world that is dangerous, so nothing is simple or easy. Be prepared for death and destruction. I loved this book and how it ended. I

#WinterWonderland #50wordsforsnow made me think of the Inuit. If you ever watch Scream 3, Randy who died in pt.2 talks how in trilogies, the 3rd pt. contains an origin story that was overlooked. Well in Sweet Tooth the Inuits are part of the origin story on how one of their spirits has returned to end the time of man by spreading a disease/mutation. This whole series was sooo good. Also, TrishB, does the first bar of drums of this song not 👇🏼

Reggie sound like Pat Benatar‘s Love is a Battlefield? I liked the Kate Bush song. I had never heard it before. 5y

Reggie @Bookzombie I‘m just a steel town girl on a Saturday night looking for the fight of her life. @readordierachel All the different covers included in the e-book they did were really amazing and outside the box. This being able to say I‘ve read a comic or a graphic novel is all due to Litsy. 5y
