We lost our fur baby yesterday after 14 yrs. Cant post a picture of her as that‘s too sad. Surprising how much I miss all those little things I did each day for her - filling bowls, opening doors (she refused to use the cat door), moving her off my chair, growling at the neighbours cat when it hassled her, watching her explore, cuddles on the couch at night watching tv, talking to her as if she understood. Such a constant and loving presence 😢

GingerAntics @kamoorephoto oh I‘m glad I‘m not the only one. I lost my 17 year old cat just days before Christmas 2012 (back when I still celebrated Christmas). It‘s a terrible time of year to lose anyone, and all these years later it still hurts. I can‘t believe it‘s nearly been a decade. 2y
GingerAntics @Centique hang in there. It‘s a crazy experience, but loving them and all the ways they make us laugh are worth it in the end. When she finds just the right kitty for you next, you‘ll know it. I always felt like each cat chose their successor somehow. Cat magic maybe. (edited) 2y

kamoorephoto @gingerantics After I lost my kitty that xmas, I then lost my 16-yr old dog on the following Valentine‘s Day. But I feel like they got me through the hardest time; leaving my ex via a DV shelter and then finally getting stable housing for me and my son. I too have this thing about animals choosing their people. It took another yr+ for me to say yes to a (deaf) rescue dog that took a liking to my son. And I always think animals souls stay with us🌈 2y
GingerAntics @kamoorephoto I totally agree. Sometimes I question if humans really have souls, but I‘ve never questioned if an animal has one. So glad your fur babies got you and your son through so much. They are awesome that way. 2y
