Sitting Kills, Moving Heals
Sitting Kills, Moving Heals: How Everyday Movement Will Prevent Pain, Illness, and Early Death - and Exercise Alone Won't | Joan Vernikos
1 post | 2 to read
This groundbreaking study demonstrates how the prevalent problems of obesity, ailing health, and lack of energy can all be easily improved simply by using the power of gravity. The survey is based on the author's research into how weightlessness weakens astronauts' muscles, bones, and overall well-being, suggesting ways to incorporate gravity into everyday life and illustrating how it can increase fitness as well as prevent aging. Addressing those who spend more than half their lives sitting and therefore struggle to benefit from even the most strenuous gym workouts, this practical, easy-to-follow action plan outlines simple gravity-resisting activities such as standing, walking, and dancing, guaranteed to produce better results than diet and exercise plans.

I haven‘t finished a book in awhile, maybe tonight. Starting this book now. 7200 steps today thus far. I may have to read standing up 🙂 written by former Director of NASA‘s Life Sciences Division. They know about bone and muscle atrophy for sure bc of zero gravity space missions. Should be enlightening!

Bostonmomx2 Getting a Fitbit for Christmas has changed me. I don‘t always meet my goal but I try to get better each week. It‘s shocking how much I realize I don‘t move when I don‘t force myself to. 6y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @Bostonmomx2 As long as you‘re trying!! I know, I have to move a lot. I try to get up every 1/2 hour or so. I don‘t have a Fitbit...I bought a really cheap watch with a pedometer on amzn...the first one didn‘t work, sent it back, the 2nd one died after 1 month and I just replaced the battery, and now it works. I like it bc it‘s so basic. No syncing, no fancy stuff. I‘m hoping it lasts🤞🏽 6y
