An old-fashioned, Blytonesque tale of three children whose lives change from one of almost fairytale privilege to an impoverished life in the country with their father having mysteriously disappeared. Predictable, in the way of many children‘s stories, but still enjoyable. I did note an article on Nesbit in this week‘s The New Yorker coincidentally which I am keen to read when the print edition arrives
