I couldn‘t find any book I wanted to read among so many books waiting in my To Be Read piles. I finally remembered that I had an unread book by local-to-me author Steve Piacente whose newest book I hadn‘t yet read. I read the first page, found myself copying down a quote immediately, and then decided this is the book I should be reading NOW! 😃

SqueakyChu I got side-tracked by reading other books. I bailed for now, but hope one day in the future to give it another try. 4y

I had so much fun two days ago at the #InternationalDayOfTheBook, an annual Street Festival in #Kensington, #Maryland, USA. I made sure to stop by the booth of local author #StevePiacente to buy a copy of his newest novel, Pretender. I asked him to be sure to spell my name correctly this time when he signed my book. 😄 He writes about racist #SouthCarolina where he previously worked as a #journalist in real life. His writing is excellent!

arubabookwoman My granddaughter shares your name, but it is spelled Madeleine. 🙂 6y
SqueakyChu @arubabookwoman The author spelled it Madelyn when he invited me to his book launch (which I was not able to attend). I often get my name misspelled (and often mispronounced by non-English speakers. 6y
ValerieAndBooks Your name is just one of those that offers lots of spelling variations 😊. My cousin‘s granddaughter is Madalyn (with the A). 6y
SqueakyChu @ValerieAndBooks I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen that spelling! 6y
