Bolzenius did a really great job putting this book together, researching and constructing this story. It‘s well written but infuriating. This book focuses on the Black women and the intersection of race and sex that prevented them from getting opportunites. This led to a strike that court martialed four women and brought into question discriminatory practices that the Army vehemently denied.
Thanks Netgalley for this book for an honest review.

This is me today! I‘m comfy on the couch, laptop perched on my Gryffindor lapdesk (which I absolutely adore and use all the time! I love this thing!) reading this book, with the windows open! It feels like summer is coming 😍☺️🌞 Planning on finishing this book up today. Definitely recommending this book. Highlights so much of the blatant hypocrisy of the US during WWII.

On my couch ready to finally start reading this! I‘ve had an ARC for a while but was waiting until closer to the release date to get started. This looks really good.
