This will be my first read of May — I‘m so excited for this one! My school used to house the Deaf & hard of hearing program for MS in my district. One of my friends was one of the interpreters, another taught Deaf special needs class. When I started taking ASL classes, they encouraged me to get certified. While that didn‘t happen, I have continued my interest.

The author is a sign language interpreter and some days I wish I went for it.

Being hard of hearing myself, using sign language has been just a part of life.

Charlie, who is hearing, learns #ASL from Frog, who is deaf, form a friendship while solving a mystery together. The author, Karen Kane, did a great job weaving signs into the narrative and this debut title will appeal to a broad spectrum of readers.
