Rick Steves Italy 2018 | Rick Steves
5 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
You can count on Rick Steves to tell you what you really need to know when traveling in Italy. From the beaches to the Alps, from fine art to fine pasta, Italy has it all. With this book, you'll trace Italian culture from Rome's Colosseum to Michelangelo's David to the bustling elegance of Milan. Experience the art-drenched cities of Venice and Florence, explore the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum, and learn how to avoid the lines at the most popular museums. Discover the villages of Tuscany and Umbria and the lazy rhythms of the Cinque Terre. Shop at local market stalls, sip a cappuccino at an outdoor caf, and pick up a picnic lunch at an allimentari. Relax and enjoy the life of Bella Italia! Rick's candid, humorous advice will guide you to good-value hotels and restaurants. He'll help you plan where to go and what to see, depending on the length of your trip. You'll get up-to-date recommendations about what is worth your time and money. More than just reviews and directions, a Rick Steves guidebook is a tour guide in your pocket.

My favorite #Hobby in addition to 📚 is traveling! 🧳 ✈️ We go on trips as often as possible, I love to visit new places and learn about different cultures. I consider myself well-traveled, but I have only seen 10% of the 🌎 countries!

Lindy I love travelling too. Where are you off to next? 5y
alisiakae @Lindy We‘re hoping to go to Mexico over spring break (our daughter has never been). It was our trip planned for this year, but then I had to have surgery last spring. And next summer planning a big trip to Israel, Jordan, and 🤞 pyramids in Egypt. 5y
Lindy @4thhouseontheleft Oooh, the Middle East—that‘s an exciting trip. 🍀 5y

These were my Christmas book gifts--two Italy travel guides, an interesting cookbook and a Nordic knitting book I can't wait to explore.

Pickpick

November #eleven is my one-year anniversary of moving my family overseas. All of Rick Steves‘ travel books have been priceless assets on our journey through Europe. In the past year, we have visited Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy using Rick‘s recommendations. His books have introduced us to hidden gems we wouldn‘t have found otherwise. Restaurant, lodging and sightseeing mentions in his books are top notch. #novemberbythenumbers

Ever look at the travel book section at the thrift store wonder what journeys these books have been on? How many guided their previous owners through foreign countries, and how many never made it off the "someday" shelf...

LinaLovesLit I ordered a used Eastern European Phrasebook once. It was pocket size, and well worn, as well as being a little soiled. You could assume with a pretty good level of certainty, that someone must have traveled with it. I wondered about its journey. ☺️ 8y
KarenaFagan We used Rick Steves in 2014 for Rome! He's amazing! 8y
KateTheBookworm @KarenaFagan I love Rick Steves! He owns a travel shop near me and I like to visit it to plan imaginary trips. :) 8y
Susannah Count me in to the Rick Steves fan club. I've never had the good fortune to travel to Europe, but I do love watching his shows. 8y
WordWaller OMG I wish my store had used travel books! I think people buy them so often we only ever have new copies! I can't wait to use Steves when I go back to Italy in February. Still looking for a copy 😄 8y
