Life with Mr. Dangerous
Life with Mr. Dangerous | Paul Hornschemeier
2 posts | 3 read | 2 to read
Somewhere in the Midwest, Amy Breis is going nowhere. Amy has a job she hates, a creep boyfriend shes just dumped, and a best friend she cant reach on the phone. But at least her (often painfully passive-aggressive) mother bought her a pink unicorn sweatshirt for her birthday. Pink. Unicorn. For her twenty-seventh birthday. Gliding through the daydreams and realities of a young woman searching for definition, Life with Mr. Dangerous showcases acclaimed cartoonist Paul Hornschemeiers gift for deadpan humor and dead-on insight with a droll aftertastean unlikely but welcome marriage of the bleak and the hopeful.

Panpan

Maybe there‘s something wrong with me but I found this story incredibly depressing and mostly pointless. I have never seen such a sad sack character as Amy, either in novel form or graphic novel. I‘m glad she got her bit of happiness at the end, but the rest of the story seemed pointless to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pickpick

This book ripped my heart out in the fifteen minutes that it took me to read it. I have never read something so short that affected me so quickly. The artwork conveyed so much emotion even when the characters weren't speaking. I highly recommend this!
